Mexico City: Mexico said that Monday had arrested former leading police officials on charges of torture from almost a decade ago.
Former Federal Police Commander Luis Cardenas Palomino was considered the right man of the former Security Secretary Genaro Garcia Luna.
Garcia Luna is now being held on charges of drug trafficking in the United States.
The US prosecutor also accused the Cardenas Palomino to receive millions of bribes from the Sinaloa cartel.
It is not clear whether Mexico will consider extraditing Him.
The Attorney General’s Office Mexico said Monday that Cardenas Palomino was arrested on the outskirts of Mexico on charges of torturing suspect kidnapping in 2012.
