Visakhapatnam: The first batch of the Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship Program (MGNF) from the India-Visakhapatnam Management Institute participated in the ‘Winter Warmrift Drive’ of the Mivaan Society.
Drive is done in three orphanages – care and love (Madhavadhara), Girls Manasu House (SIMHachalam) and Hope Blind Home (Vepagunta).
As part of the initiative, MGNF students distribute ground lights, candy, groceries, and blankets among children.
Talking about the importance of this initiative, the MGNF chair from IIM-Vizag, Dr.
Mohammad mentioned the jaw, said that MGNF students from the first batch were quite visionary, empathic and determined to bring change in society.
“Therefore, as a step towards making a difference in society, around 35 students gather to celebrate the celebration season in relation to the Mivaan community to provide basic facilities to Yatumantan children and also to bring happiness in their lives,” said Dr.

Avugadda Phanendra Naidu, a MGNF student, said that every year they celebrate the festival with their family members.
“But this time, we want to extend our warmth to others too.
We take this initiative to work with the Mivaan community and spend quality time with children”.

The MGNF program was designed by the Ministry of Development of the Skills and Entrepreneurship of the United States, and was implemented in collaboration with the state skill development mission (SSDM).
The aim of the two-year fellowship program is to let people get involved with some growth-oriented schemes at the district level, strengthen institutions and improve skills development.
People will also help connect the market, create economic growth to promote work, and revive livelihoods in rural areas.
IIM Visakhapatnam is one of the nine IIMs in the country hosting the MGNF program.
