COIMBATORE: The MGR wholesale marketplace in town has been reopened and permitted to work on Tuesday to guarantee that an uninterrupted supply of veggies into the general public during the intense lockdown. The marketplace would serve according to government guidelines over the allowed time limitation of 6am to noon. Talking to reporters after inspecting in the marketplace, town firm commissioner P Kumaravel Pandian explained he had requested the dealers to secure vegetables/fruits from different districts/states to guarantee uninterrupted supply. The fruits and vegetables are offered via 165 private cars belonging to dealers and 70 corporation-owned vehicles with the support of farmers’ markets at the city limit,” he explained, adding they have been taking all of the measures to avoid cost increase. The company has set a goal of working about 500 to 600 vehicles inside town limits. While moves are issued to 400-odd vegetable dealers, some flats have produced their own structures and readied about 30 to 35 cars. In general, over 500 vehicles have been used to market vegetables to the general public, ” he explained. The company officials also have requested us to sell vegetables to the regional vehicles prior to sending it into Kerala.” President of Coimbatore TK Economy Anaithu Motha Vyabarigal Sangam M Rajendran stated,”We have opted to market vegetables to the cheapest possible cost for the upcoming few days” While talking about the Covid-19 position from town, the commissioner stated they have been doing concentrated testing in multiple locations, taking all measures to additional increase the amount of samples examined a day and lower the hardness rate.
