NEW DELHI: The Union home ministry has operationalised the federal helpline 155260 and reporting platform for averting monetary loss because of cyber fraud.
The national helpline and reporting systems supply a mechanism for men cheated in cyber scams to document these instances to avoid reduction of the hard-won cash, a ministry announcement said.
Reinforcing the dedication of the Modi government to offer safe and protected digital obligations eco-system, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) under the direction of Union Home Minister Amit Shah has operationalised the federal helpline 155260 and reporting platform for averting monetary loss because of cyber fraud, as the announcement said.
The helpline was tender launched on April 1, 2021.
The helpline 155260 and its own reporting platform was made operational from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) underneath the home ministry, even together with continuing support and collaboration by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), all significant banks, payment banks, and wallets and internet retailers.
The Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System was developed in house by I4C to incorporate law enforcement bureaus and banking and financial intermediaries.
It’s now being utilised combined with 155260 by seven states and Union territories (Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh) covering over 35 percent of the nation’s inhabitants.
Roll out at others nations for pan-India policy is underway to stop the circulation of money siphoned away by fraudsters.
Considering its soft launch, at a brief period of 2 weeks, the helpline 155260 has managed to save over Rs 1.85 crore of conserve cash by hitting the hands of fraudsters, together with Delhi and Rajasthan saving Rs 58 lakh and Rs 53 lakh, respectively, the announcement said.
