Mumbai: The authority of the construction of the Maharashtra (MHADA) residential area is scheduled to formally take over rebuilding the rebuilding of Siddharth Nagar (Patra) Chawl at Goregaon West.
The State Housing Department issued the Government Resolution (GR) directed Mhada to complete the rebuilding of traffic jams and handed over the reins to 672 tenants and 306 residents who had won the rations through the authority lottery system.
The tenant will be paid for rental arrears too.
The GR also directs Mhada to take advantage of all the legal ways to ensure that it gets a legitimate part of the developed area.
Siddharth Nagar spread in 47 hectares and developers, farmhish, allegedly selling land parcels to nine other developers without the approval of Mhada.
The problem goes to court after the comptroller and general auditor (CAG) shows the difference in calculating the actual area.
At present before the Bombay High Court and National Law Appellate Tribunal Law (NCL).
The Cabinet approved the Josh Joseph committee recommendation, allowing Mhada to sell flat with market prices as a concession once to recover the cost of rebuilding.
Mhada will also be permitted in the 4th floor space in areas that have not been developed.
The housing department has issued another MHADA GR mandate to obtain state approval before issuing a letter of intention to rebuilding to the developer for one of its layouts.
“Often residents must bear the burden because the project will be jammed for years.
Therefore, to ensure public goods, Mhada needs to submit detailed proposals to the government, get approval and only publish NOC and approval for the project,” he stated.
