Mia saw the increase in domestic passenger traffic

Mangaluru: Mangaluru International Airport (MIA), who saw a decline in domestic passengers after the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic, now witnessed the increase in passenger traffic.
Domestic air traffic, which includes arrival and departure, increases at a faster pace since August, compared to July and June.
Appointment of gradual locking by various states and ranging from flights, has provided an encouragement of air traffic, said Mia spokesman.
Mia, the second busiest airport after the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, in Karnataka, which almost returned with 80% of the domestic passenger load after the first wave of pandemic, saw the passenger burden down in early April, because of the second wave of pandemic.
The latest data shows that 12,717 passengers departed from Mia between August 1 to August 15, compared with 7,784 passengers starting July 1-5, a 63% surge.
In the same period June, there were 4,989 departures.
Likewise, 13,924 passengers arrived in the first two weeks of August, compared with 8,495 passengers between July 1-15, once again up 64%.
In the same period June, there were 3,818 arrivals at the airport.
The growth in the number of passengers, as well as the increase in flight is due to the opening of the office in stages throughout India.
Amounts tend to increase further in the coming days, especially so the celebration season begins, according to airport spokesman.
On more domestic flights that began, a spokesman said that the private airline would immediately start service to Hyderabad and Mumbai.
There is also possible other flights from Bengaluru.
