Microsoft is rumored to be working on the cross-platform version of the Microsoft Defender client.
The WebView version of the Microsoft Security Tool is expected to arrive on the Windows 10 operating system, MacOS, Android and iOS.
The WebView version of the client is expected to display a customized dashboard and allow users to store tabs on the security status of Windows devices and other connected devices.
Windowslatest has reported that the company has now released the initial preview of Windows Defender, which confirms some details related to the tool.
According to the report, WebView Windows Defender will first launch the Windows Insider preview user and then it will reach the final version.
Also, the Windows Defender preview is currently available in the US and not many features that currently function in the preview version.
WindowsLeLest has also confirmed that the new version of Windows Defender will not replace the existing version in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Also, the new defender will only act as a dashboard for devices instead of offering malware protection and viruses to the device accessible.
The report also claims that previewing Windows Defender will allow users to add family members to the dashboard and connect their devices to access all security information related to devices connected in one place.
Until now, there is no official release date available for Windows Defender.
It is expected to arrive with Windows updates in the future.
