Mumbai: Bharatiya Janata (BJP) MLA from Kandivi East Atul Bhatkhalkar has filed a police complaint against the Head of Minister of Uddhav Thackeray for his remarks to migrants in Maharashtra.
In his complaint which nested in the police Samta Nagar, Bhatkhalkar demanded action against the minister’s chairman below section 156 (a) IPC to “try to create hatred between the community and disrupt communal harmony and peace in public life.” He warned if there were no actions taken against Thackeray within four days, he would approach the court.
Thackeray’s comments on close monitoring about the existence of migrants at a meeting with senior police officials regarding the case of rape Saki Naka was published in Shiv Sena Corong Saamana.
BJP MLA said that it was surprising that all migrants must be placed in one category, implying them all criminals.
“The minister’s chairman has put a question mark on the character of all migrants by making comments like that.
It’s not fair,” he said.
State President BJP Chandrakant Patil said it was not true to target the community for crime.
“The minister’s chairman must consider whether the migrants are doing such crimes,” he said.
