The body of a small water and wetlands, which was once home to some migratory birds, was in bad conditions now.
The release of toxic waste has polluted many lakes while others dr dry up and have been converted into illegal dumping meters.
“On the Kim River, the disposal of toxic fluid is a big problem.
The fish have died in large numbers and this has happened in the past too,” Darshan said, a farmer leader.
It has long been a long wetland near Kawas Village in Hazira has become a favorite among Birders to click on migration species.
However, at this time, the body of the water there is surrounded by waste material while the weeds of water like water hyacinth have covered most of the pool.
The same thing is the story of the lake in Bhatha Village near Pal.
“The release of non-treated wastewater in large quantities and waste disposal leads to eutrophication.
This results in massive growth of hyacinth, water cabbage and other water weeds that resolve the ecology of the body of water,” Karmavir Bhatt said, an environmental lover.
According to Bhatt, the majority of the lake around the city has turned into the location of garbage collection does not leave space for birds that migrate to the ground.
“We used to see hundreds of migration birds on several lakes near the river but.
But these lakes are now covered with water weeds and leads to a terrible smell,” Bhatt added.
