Beirut: Prime Minister Lebanon – appointed Najib Mikati told Wednesday that he hoped to form a government in “approaching the future”.
Mikati, a businessman, is a third person who will be nominated since the government Hassan Diab resigned after the explosion in the Port of Beirut Port on August 4 last year which killed more than 200 people and leveled the large area of the city.
He spoke with reporters after meeting President Michel Aoun.
The DIAB government has remained in the capacity of the management since then, but the Lebanese currency has collapsed, the work has disappeared and the bank has a frozen account in the country’s worst crisis since the 1975-90 civil war.
“I gave my proposal, President Aoun approved most of them and he made some acceptable comments; God willing …
We will be able to form a government immediately,” said Mikati.
Mikati had prime minister twice before and, unlike many Lebanese leaders, did not represent political blocks or hail of the dynasty.
Like the previous candidate, Saad Al-Hariri, he must navigate sectarian structures, share power and secure an agreement in the cabinet which is equipped to overcome the financial crisis in Lebanon, one of the most indebted countries in the world.
