Guwahati: Alleged militant NSCN (K-ya) Myanmar has kidnapped three road construction workers from Pumao at the Longding District of Arunachal Pradesh.
However, one of them, who is a local, released later.
The labeled worker, identified as Bangphua Wangpan, came from Langkhao Village in this district.
The other two, were identified as Hiren Konch and Ramasish Mahato, each of them from Dibrugarh in Assam and Bihar.
Even though the incident occurred on Sunday, the news came on Tuesday night because the incident site was far away and the cellphone of other workers was taken by his kidnappers.
The workers had to walk a few kilometers to report the problem to the police.
Security forces have launched a search and rescue operation in the area that runs into unfriendly fields in neighboring Myanmar.
A source said the three people worked on Jalan Pumao-Langkhow and camping on site.
