JAGRAON: Billo six-half years old, cow Jersey, from Cheemna village in Ludhiana District set a national record for the highest milk results during the Dairy International Dairy Association Progressive and Agri here on Monday.
Yuvraj, Bull Chain Neeleli Ravi, from the Ferozepur district won the first prize in the competition for pigs (Bull) in the same event.
Speaking with Toi, the owner of Billo Amarjit Singh, a dairy farmer from the village of Cheemna, said the previous national record for a 24-hour milk for jersey cows at the national level was 46.467 kg, but his work broke the record by producing 46,753 kg one day.
He said it was a huge achievement for them and his son also worked with him to realize this.
Billo owner said he had 125 cows, including Breed Jersey and Holstein Friesian (HF).
He said he had visited the international beef expo, including one held in France.
Kuldeep Singh, who with HF (two gears) of cattle (aged 23 months) belongs to Parveen Singh from Makhu, said the cow won the first prize in the category with a milk yield of 49.80 kg.

They said even as in the Cow competition HF (two teeth), Sattle Parveen Singh won the first prize, Livestock Chaman Singh won the first competition in HF (adulthood) by providing milk 63.813 kg.
Meanwhile, Gurjant Singh, the owner of Yuvraj, who won the first prize, said it was priceless.
“It wins because of a better body shape and breed,” Gurjant said.
The committee said that the response was great this year.
