CHANDIGARH: Iconic sprinter Milkha Singh was on Saturday cremated with complete state honours, signaling the conclusion of an age where his pioneering achievements on the trail attested a newly-independent India.
Milkha, that was 91, bidding a tearful adieu at the existence of his family and lots of dignitaries, such as sports ministry Kiren Rijiju.
‘The Flying Sikh’, as he was called, expired on Friday night because of COVID-19 associated complications.
