CHANDIGARH: Famous Indian sprinter Milkha Singh was on Sunday discharged by a private clinic where he had been undergoing treatment for COVID-19 disease even as he was on air support.
Though the 91-year-old Milkha was discharged in stable state on the petition of his loved ones, his 82-year-old spouse Nirmal Kaur needed to be changed into the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Saturday night because of increasing oxygen condition.
“On the petition of their household, Mr Milkha Singh was discharged from the hospital now in a secure state.
He’s on oxygen and nutrient aid,” that the Fortis hospital, Mohali, stated in its upgrade.
“Mrs Milkha Singh needed to be changed to the ICU last night because of increasing oxygen demands.
She has been steady.
” The hospital also had previously said they were treated for COVID pneumonia.
Even though Milkha was admitted to this hospital Monday, his spouse got admission in exactly the identical centre on Wednesday after testing positive for the highly infectious virus.
