CHANDIGARH: Famous Indian sprinter Milkha Singh has been”secure” and he’s been changed from COVID ICU to a different section of this PGIMER hospital, ” a statement by his relatives said on Wednesday.
The 91-year-old had contracted the dreaded virus .
“Milkha ji is secure and is from this COVID ICU, however, is at the Medical ICU,” a spokesperson of their Milkha family stated.
“Thanks for your continuing prayers and good wishes,” it added.
PGIMER sources stated that Milkha Singh has been”good, secure and regaining”.
“He’s analyzed COVID negative and he had been changed from this COVID ICU,” the sources said.
The sources further stated a medical group comprising senior physicians of the hospital were carefully monitoring his everyday wellness advancement.
Milkha’s spouse Nirmal Kaur (85), that had contracted the virus after her husband tested positive, had passed away in a private hospital at Mohali on Sunday because of COVID-related complications.
Kaur has been a former women’s national volleyball team captain.
The few were supposed to have contracted the disease from a home help.
Milkha Singh was declared to PGIMER about June 3 following his oxygen prices dipped in home after treatment in the Fortis hospital at Mohali per week.
The mythical athlete is an four-time Asian Games gold medallist and 1958 Commonwealth Games winner but his best functionality stays the fourth-place end in the 400m closing of the 1960 Rome Olympics.
