WASHINGTON: Millions of Americans squat as a large winter storm hit the United States east with thick snow and a knock of ice for an estimated 145,000 customers on Sunday night.
National weather services (NWS) said the storm brought a combination of sad combinations, freezing rain and strong winds, impacting in mideast and coastal before moving to New England and South Canada.
Some areas along the Appalachian Mountain Range can see one inch of snow per hour until Monday, while ice conditions can continue to grow until Tuesday, NWS said.
Overall, more than 80 million people fell under the winter weather warnings, US media reported.
