Thiruvananthapuram: The State Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Fisheries Dr.
L Murugan praised the concept and contents of the ‘Short Film Festival’ which aims to create public public awareness about women’s safety and empowerment.
He presented awards at the festival ceremony held here on Sunday.
The Minister recognizes the big contribution of women from Kerala who become a carrier of torches in sports, health care, cinema, literature, art and science.
Dr.
Murugan shows that the values spread by cinemas are very important such as how cinema treats problems such as domestic violence, crimes against women and the role of women in the community.
The minister urges young people to explore new ideas and technologies and create cinema with aesthetic understanding.
He said that the central government has opened a film facilitation office for a point of contact for filmmakers in obtaining permission to take pictures in various parts of the country.
State Minister of Union for Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Mohanlal contains functions through video messages.
The festival is organized by the Jatayu Rama Cultural Center.
