BENGALURU: The Karnataka government on Saturday said that it will limit the treatment price for mucormycosis, a potentially deadly bacterial infection, privately hospitals throughout the state.
The transfer, as it becomes fact, will stop countless households by shelling out lakhs of rupees over the antifungal medications, the costs of which have skyrocketed during the past weeks after a spike in mucormycosis instances.
Health Union K Sudhakar stated there were 1,784 instances of mucormycosis instances reported at the country and, of those just 62 have recovered.

Sudhakar stated that 9,750 vials of Amphotericin B medication utilized for mucormycosis therapy was allocated to Karnataka from Centre.
