Lucknow: Two candidates from one party trying for the same seat contest are not new, but what if they become husband and wife? BJP found himself in a complicated situation in the Sarojininagar chair in Lucknow where the two Swati Singh ministers and her husband Shankar Singh – Vice President BJP – has risked their claim.
Swati won the Sarojininagar seat in 2017 after he received propulsion by BJP in 2016 when BSP leaders used bad comments against him and his daughter.
This happened after Shankar’s power made a comment insulting on the head of BSP Mayawati.
He was suspended from a party just to be brought back after a few months.
He is currently the Vice President of BJP and who is responsible for OBC Morcha.
Now, both Shankar and Swati power are competing for the Sarojininagar chair where voting will be held in the fourth phase.
While both of them cannot be contacted for comments, a senior party leader said the party’s leadership will make the last call.
A few days ago, both Swati and Shankar’s power put up hoarding in the assembly constituency, making people disappointed.
Shankar’s power has also become a member of the BJP Committee that oversees the induction of leading leaders from the opposition camp.
He was said to have played an important role in Induction SP Patriarch Mulayam Singh, son-in-law Yadav Yudav, Aparna Yadav, at BJP.
