Thiruvananthapuram: Food Minister and Civil Equipment G R Anil visits help camps in Vithura and Meabankal on Friday.
Flash floods have influenced the two regions.
He visited Pannikuzhi, Meenkal region which was flooded with rainy days before and also visited places where houses were destroyed.
He also visited the people who were transferred to Vithura School from Ponmudi Plantation Settlements.
The Minister evaluates facilities provided in the help camp in Meabankal High School Government and income officials directed at overcoming any shortcomings.
He also stated that the compensation procedure will begin as soon as possible and that the coordinative department work will be accelerated.
He was accompanied by MLA G Stephen, Representative of Panchayath, President Vithura Grama Panchayath Baburaj, Tahasildar Shaji and other government officials.
About 16 houses were damaged in Meabankal.
Heavy losses are also reported in the agricultural sector.
About 75 people now live in aid camp here.
