Chennai: Endowments Religion and Hindu Amal (HR and CE) Minister P K Sekar Babu on Monday said the steps would be taken to take a violated land on the Poonamallee Highway in Chennai who belonged to the Temple of Ekambareswarar, Kancheepuram.
While 45 reasons belonging to the temple have been taken, the remaining 95 reasons are still under encroachment.
The combined market value of 95 reasons property is at RS 475 Crore.
On Monday, 1970 square feet of commercial space operating in the Temple property (Temple of Ekambareswarar) was taken and destroyed.
According to press releases, the minister told reporters that the department had taken around RS 600 Crores Property Temple which was interrupted (throughout the state).
This will increase to RS 1,000 Crore immediately, he added.
Appeal to penetrate to voluntarily return the violation of the temple land, he said that the action was being started with complaints about the temple land that spread.
Commissioner of HR and CE J Kumaragurubaran and Commissioner with the Kancheepuram region Jayaraman also attended the occasion.
