Mini Hydro Power Project is broken as two cloudburst hit cargil

Cargil: Two Cloudburst hit various cargil areas in the Union Ladakh area, which caused damage to the mini power project, almost a dozen housing houses and plants standing, officials said on Wednesday.
However, there was no loss of life reported in Cloudburst, which hit the Sangra and Khangral on Tuesday night, they said.
Chairman and Head of the Executive Board, the Autonomous Development Board of the Ladakh (LAHDC), Cargil Feroz Ahmad Khan said the Sangra on Jalan Kargil-Zanskar was the worst blow because flash floods caused a lot of damage to the property, including the mini-hydro power project.
“We have a lot of property damage in Cloudburst in the Sangra in the Sanku sub-division.
We have restored electricity and water supply, while efforts to make road traffic cargil-zanskar worth it,” he said.
Khan said he was with a high-level official team visited the scene to take stock situations.
“We hope to recover the road cargil-zanskar tomorrow night (Thursday),” he said.
A police officer said nine housing houses and plants stood spread across several hectares of land suffered damage in the incident.
He said several livestock were also killed in flash floods in Panighar village.
Khan said another Cloudburst hit the village of Khangral on the National Highway Srinagar-Leh, causing damage to several houses and plants standing.
However, he said the 434 km highway was open to vehicle traffic.
A disaster management official said the first Cloudburst took place in Khangral Village, about 60 km of Cargil on the Cargil-Leh National Highway, while the second occurred in the Sangra, about 40 km from Cargil in the Zanskar Sub-Division in Zanskar Road.
