PANAJI: Crucial mining material, which will decide on the commencement of mining activities in the state, is likely to come to hear on September 7 at the Supreme Court (SC), said Advocate General Devidas Pangam.
In July, the Apex Court has rejected the petitions proposed by the state government that seeks to update the operation of 88 mining rentals canceled in 2018 with the reason for delay in submitting a petition for more than 20 months and said that the application did not have advantages.

In February 2018, SC has canceled the second update from 88 mining rent in the state, carrying the entire industry to stop.
By 2020, the state government submitted a petition demanding an order.
Mining companies have submitted a special leave petition (SLP) in SC after the Bombay High Court in Goa rejected their petitions challenging Goa Law, Daman and DIU (Termination and Mining Rental Declaration), 1987.
During the Portuguese government, the Petitioner (mining company ) Provided mining concessions, which are then converted into mining rentals under action.
SLP has stated that the action must be applied from 1987, not 1961.
The state government also told SC that the company had made representation to the mining department which believed that under parts 8A of mines and minerals (Development and Regulation) (MMDR) Law Invite, they have the right to extend their rent to 2037, but they will obey the court order.
The state said that mining concessions were changed to mining rentals under the MMDR law from 1987, and consequently 50 mining rentals would be expanded to 2037.
To restart mining activities, the state government passed the Monsoon Corporation Bill in the Monsun session.

The state government will auction on new mining rent through corporations and restart mining activities in the state.
