Margao: A 19-year-old girl died and the others were injured after the two-wheel they controlled came under the wheel of the mining truck in Kaay, in Sanguem Taluka, on Saturday night.
Vidya Dhaklo Varik died in a temporary place that was injured in a hurry to Hospicio, Margao.
The source said that the truck brought iron ore from Tolem in Sanguem to a sponge iron factory located in the village.
After the incident, the villagers gathered in large quantities at the crash site and stopped mining transportation along the route.
They claim that ore transportation through the village is illegal.
Kalayan resident, Amar rose, a lawyer, said that even though he had complained to the authorities, including representatives of collectors, showing that routes taken by trucks through villages were not authorized for mining transportation, there were no actions taken on complaints.
Increasing further said that the locals will be forced to stop transportation through the village if the authorities fail to take action.
Police Curchorem has arrested a truck driver, Piedade Carvalho, with the provisions of the ACT of motorized vehicles and Indian criminal codes.
