Coimbatore: District recorded 597 fresh Covid-19 cases on Monday took the total number of cases to 2,18,426.
With 1,089 people run out, the number of active cases also dropped to 5.110.
The district recorded the highest number of deaths in the state of seven, which took the victim to 2017.
With the total number of people who had increased to 2,11,299, the level of recovery further jumped to 96.7%.
The second wave curve in the district almost formed a triangle with the district recorded less than 600 new cases after almost 10 weeks, namely when the wave officially began.
Death also reaches one digit after eight weeks.
On Monday, the Forest Minister K Ramachandran inaugurated two oxygen generators at ESI Hospital each with a capacity of 1,000 liters and 400 liters.
Both of these generators can provide oxygen to around 280 beds in the hospital, now ensure that all 1,082 covid-19 beds in hospitals have oxygen support.
Out of the 1,082 bed hospital, 783 has oxygen and 100 of them with a ventilator.
Now with 280 beds also oxygenated through these two generators, almost all 1,082 beds in hospitals are now equipped with oxygen support.
While the 1,000-liter oxygen generator is worth RS 2.35 Crore contributed by L & T, 400-liter cylinders worth 70 lakh rs donated by private donors.
The minister said they continued to build infrastructure even though the Covid-19 case was reduced.
“At ESI Hospital itself where there are more than 1,000 patients treated for viruses on one day, now there are only 310 Covid-19 patients,” he said.
He also praised the hospital because it not only treats coimbatore patients but becoming a treatment center for critical patients from other districts as well.
Vaccination will be provided in 46 government companies and schools on Tuesday each of each school.
This will start at 10 am.
