Kolkata: The Senior Trinamool Congress leader Subrata Mukherjee died after a prolonged illness at the State Managed Hospital in Kolkata on Thursday, said Head of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee.
Mukherjee, who is the Minister of Panchayat State, is 75.
The head of the minister visited the SSKM hospital and announced that he died this afternoon.
“I still don’t believe he’s no longer with us.
He is a dedicated party leader.
This is a personal loss for me,” he said.
Mukherjee shifted to the ICU at the hospital last week after he complained of severe respiratory problems, said sources at medical facilities.
