Ranchi: In the midst of a shortage of sustainable coal stocks at thermal power stations throughout the country, Coal Minister Union Pralhad Joshi will meet with the Minister of Hemant Soren and encourage environmental licenses and pollution that can pave the way for the expansion of several Mega Mining projects from Indian coal projects Limited (CIL).
Joshi will arrive in Ranchi on Thursday morning and meet Soren in the last office in the project building.
He also tends to travel to the Central Coal Coalfields Limited (CCL) project at Piparwar before returning to the state capital at night.
While the Soren office remained unresponsive, the Director of Cum-Managing CCL P Prasad confirmed Joshi’s visit to Ranchi.
“His visit to Ranchi was due for weeks now,” said Prasad.
However, Prasad did not divulge more details about scheduled meetings.
Joshi has visited Soren in July last year.
During the meeting, Joshi urged Soren to soften his government’s attitude towards the central decision to hold auction for commercial mining in coal beams.
The state government has demanded RS 8,226 Crore from the center as compensation for nearly 20,000 hectares of land acquired by CIL in Jharkhand for mining projects between 2009 and 2019.

Meanwhile, the CIL subsidiary in Jharkhand has increased their coal shipments to their customers in the electricity sector.
On Tuesday, CCL sent 39 roots of the train carrying 1.18 lakh tons of coal while Bharat Coking Barat based in Dhanbad was limited to 74,000 tons of coal at 22 Railway Rakes.
The records available with the Union Ministry point out that Indian coal-based power plants are at 2.65 billion units and has increased by 19.5% compared to October 2019.
