New Delhi: The Minister of Sports Anurag Thakur on Wednesday launched the ‘Cheer4India’ song from the State Olympic contingent and urged the public to wholeheartedly behind his athletes during the Tokyo match.
Full of Grammy Award-winning AR Rahman and young singer Birla collaborated to serve official songs from the Indian contingent for the Tokyo Olympics, titled Cheer4India: Hindustani Way.
“I urged all my citizens to listen to the song, shared it to fellow citizens and also cheered for all Indian contingents for the Tokyo Olympics to show that we were behind them,” said Thakur.
He thanked Rahman and Ananya for compiling songs in difficult times of Covid-19 pandemic.
The Indian Olympic Association President Narinder Batra said the launch of the Heer Song Indian team was the peak of hard work by all stakeholders in the last 18 months.
MOS (Sports) Nisith Pramanik, Sports Secretary Ravi Mittal, Sports Authority Director of India General Sandip Pradhan and Secretary General IOA Rajeev Mehta was also present on that occasion.
