During the UPA government led by the previous Congress, 47,000 MT rice was purchased by FCI from Assam between 2010 and 2014, he added.
Claiming that the procurement of rice from the country has increased since the Government of Narendra Modi-LED NDA in power in the center in 2014, Choubey said 2 lakh MT Paddy would be purchased from the country farmers during the year.
