Coimbatore: To prevent human-animal conflicts, the Ministry of Forestry plans to spread the drone to map the range of forests of Manombolly and Valparai in the reserves of anaimalai tigers (ATR) immediately.

“He said the mapping of drones would cover the entire reserve forest, villages along the edge of the forest, tea area, quarter staff, swamps and the city of Valparai.
“All areas will be captured with drones and areas will be mapped.
If elephants go near the quarter of tea classrooms in Valparai, officials can check maps on their computers in their office and instruct the front-line staff to pursue a certain direction.” Ganesan said they had Two drone cameras and the other two will be employed for mapping work.
“It will take at least 30 days to complete work.
After mapping is done, it will be easy to identify the area of ​​two reserve forests.
This will help prevent human conflicts in the future.” He said they also formed the WhatsApp group 10 days ago to monitor Elephant movement in two forest ranges in ATR in the Pollachi Forest Division.
“Staff of the Forest Department, Tea Region Manager, Environmental Lovers, and various NGOs are part of the group that is intended to share details about the elephant movement.
