Jaipur: A 16-year-old boy was sentenced by a group of people, who also shaved his head and his eyebrows, in suspicion of theft in the Ajmer Rajasthan district, said the police said on Monday.
The incident took place on Saturday in the Gurjarbas area in the district when several people suspected the boy Dalit stole a vehicle battery, they said.
They beat him with a stick, shave his head and eyebrows and post online videos, they added.
The case has been submitted in this case under the relevant section of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC) and the prevention of cruelty (caste and scheduled tribes) acting.
“The problem is being investigated,” said Station House Officer (Sho) Satendra Singh Negi.
He said this problem was light after the video incident became a viral on social media.
