Chandrapur: The 17-year-old girl, who was stabbed by a stalker near the Mahakali temple on September 9, breathed her last breath on Monday.
The girl’s death triggered anger against the police when they failed to act against Praefulla Atram (30) stalkers even after the complaint was submitted to the Ramnagar police.
The victim was a nurse at a private hospital in the city.
Accused of Atram, a worker, had intercepted the girl when he returned home with a friend on September 9, and stabbed him several times with a knife.
The city police have admitted the girl at Chandrapur Gmch and has captured the accused atram, which was learned to get married, within a few hours after the incident.
Kin the victim stated sadness over the police attitude when the girl filed a complaint to Ramnagar police on September 1 against atram after she harassed it at work and threatened.
Police only register violations that cannot be recognized.
“If the police acted immediately and rushed on charges, the piercing incident could be avoided and the girl would live,” said relatives.
Bempers ran high for some time when the girl was taken home.
