Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Union Pinarayi Vijayan will convene an all-party assembly to explore the dilemma of scholarship to the minority segments, in the aftermath of the new high court verdict in the subject.
The digital assembly will be held at 3:30 pm Friday.
The high court Friday declared a government order issued in 2015, below which 80 percent of scholarships to the minority moved into the Muslim community, even although the remainder 20 percent went into the Christian area, such as Latin Catholics and transformed Christians.
The high court seat composed of justice Manikumar and justice Shaji P Chaly, although quashing the authorities dictate, had directed the state government to give merit-cum-means scholarships to the members of those informed minority communities alike.
Included in this plot, the state authorities had supplied 5,000 scholarships for both diploma and postsecondary Muslim girls students.
In 2011the advantage of this strategy was extended to pupils belonging to both Latin Catholic and transformed Christian communities.
The government purchase in 2015, subsequently stated that the booking one of Christian and Muslim students are in the ratio 80:20.
