‘Miranda & LSR College Best India’

New Delhi: Continuing a good journey for the third year in a row, IIT-Madras has topped the ‘India 2021’ rating released by the Ministry of Education on Thursday, while in the Delhi’s College category Miranda House and Lady Shri Ram College for women First and second among the top 100.
IIT-Madras also maintains the top position in the ‘Teknik’ and ‘Overall’ category.
Among the universities, IISC-Bangalore was ranked number one, followed by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
In the research category, which was introduced this year, IISC-Bangalore appeared a second Topper and IIT-Madras.
This is the ranking of the sixth edition of India which is institutionalized by the National Institutional Framework (NIRF) by the Ministry of Education, which is now ranked in higher education institutions in 11 categories.
The number of unique applicants to rankings has increased from 2,426 in 2016 to 4.030 in 2021 while the total number of applications for ranking in various categories has increased from 3,565 in 2016 to 6,272.

Stating that IISC is a benchmark in research, which will be carried out by IIT-Madras, Professor Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director, IIT-Madras, said, “We are happy to maintain our superior position in NIRF rank again, which shows it we constantly improve inside All parameters.

Wise-Wise, Tamil Nadu has 19 institutions in the top 100 universities, followed by Maharashtra with 12 and 10 of Karnataka.
In the overall category also the same number for Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.

Releasing the ranking, Education Minister Union Dharmendra Pradhan said that the strong rating framework and roles will function as a contribution of India to the global learning landscape, “So, we must ensure that our ranking framework appears as a benchmark not only in the country, but also Global, especially for developing countries, “while urging for the development of a regional ranking framework.
“We have 50,000 educational institutions and 50 million higher education students.
The ratings cannot be avoided and must be done.
This year, 6,000 institutions participated in the future, almost all institutions must advance,” Pradhan added.
