Mix-up leaves men with two doses ‘first’ in Delhi

New Delhi: Lakshman Pandit went to the government school in Northwest Delhi’s Qadipur on July 1 to get a second dose of Covid vaccine.
The 59-year-old worker showed a text message he got from the Cowin application on his phone to the people there before being given a shot.
Two hours later, the phone turned a bip.
The confirmation message congratulated him to get his first dose in the covishield.
“I know for the fact that I have to get the second dose of Covaxin, after getting the vaccine before.
But in a text message, I see ‘dose 1’ mentioned.
I showed both messages to an acquaintance in the colony, who confirmed,” said Pandit.
“I have taken the first dose of Covaxin at the pharmacy in Mukhmelpur in April.
After that there was a lock and I returned home to Bihar, took a temporary vaccination certificate with me.
Because of the flooding that affected our house, I could not save the document that stated that I was It has received the first dose of Covaxin.
“When the Pandit went to the vaccination center at the Qadipur School, he showed them the text message he got after the first dose.
So technically, it should be given a second dose of Covaxin.
But he was given the first dose of Covishield.
Vikas Saini, his acquaintance, was examined on the Cowin website and confirmed that Pandit had indeed been given a Covaxin shot as the first dose.
“Maybe because there are so many people in the vaccination center, they make mistakes.
But Pandit is very worried,” Saini said.
Pandit lived alone in Delhi and claimed to feel sick after injection.
“Four hours after vaccination, I had a headache, fever and nausea.
My mouth feels dry despite drinking lots of water.
Since then I can’t eat and feel anxious every time as if I have stolen something,” said construction workers.
“Because Mukhmelpur is 5 km from my house, I have been looking for a vaccination center close to where I said.” Worried he would fall ill, he returned to the center in Qadipur and notified the error authority.
“They tore the previous paper and changed things on the computer and then asked me to forget the first vaccine I took,” Alleged Pandit.
“They said I had to go back for the second dose after 84 days.” The man was worried about what would happen to his children if he died.
“No, I will not return or second dose now,” he said.
“Mere Sathah Bahut Master of Huwa Na, Maine Ball Tha Unko Ki Mujhe Padna Nahin Aata Isliye Aapa Hi Check Karo (I have been persecuted, I have notified vaccination people that I can’t read and ask them to check my previous details).
