LONDON: Following up on the first dose of Astrazeneca or the Pfizer vaccine with the second dose of the modern or Novavax Jabs produces a strong immune response to Covid-19, according to a study published in the Lancet journal.
A team led by researchers at the University of Oxford in England found that there was no security problem filed in the study of 1,070 participants.
This study supports flexible use of these vaccines in primary immunization schedules, which are very important to help spread these vaccines quickly, especially in low countries and MDrincome where the vaccine supply may be inconsistent.
“Thanks to this study, we now get a more complete picture of how various vaccines can be used together in the same vaccine schedule,” said Matthew Snape at the University of Oxford.
“Very offensive, all of these schedules produce concentrations of antibodies above that the two-dose schedule of Oxford-AZ is licensed and effective,” Snape said.
When it comes to cellular immunity, the researchers said, having the first dose of AZ’s shot followed by one of the other study vaccines produced a very strong response.
In addition, the number of short-lived vaccine reactions that are significantly higher are reported on volunteers who get second doses of moderna compared to those who get two doses of AZ or Pfizer.
