Aizawl: Home Minister Mizoram Lalchamliana on Tuesday confirmed that the state and community government chose to resolve border disputes between countries that were long-standing with Assam through dialogue by sharing a negotiation table.
Stating this in the function of the release of the book on the border dispute of Mizoram-Assam, written by Lalthuamliana, the Minister of Home Affairs said that the limit committee suffered by the state government reported at three alternatives – the pressure of the limit commission, approaching the Supreme Court, approaching or trying Bring friendly completion with Assam.
“The Limit Committee, chaired by Deputy Chairperson of the Minister of Twawluia, decided to find a solution for border disputes between countries through negotiations,” Lalchamliana said.
He added that the recommendation of the limit commission or assessment of the APEX court must also be accepted by neighboring countries.
Except the joint action committee on demand for inner line forest reserves, representatives of all major political parties, civil society and the student agency decided that the Dialogue with the Assam government was the best choice to find border solutions, he said.
He said the core committee of limit disputes had completed his work as provided by reference provisions.
The Committee was formed by the State Government and was led by the Secretary of the Head of State after the attack by “Police Personnel Assam at Mizo Student Activists at Zophai near Bairabi in the Mizoram-Assam border district on March 8 and 10 2018” agreed to hold further talks.
