Mizoram recorded more than 1,000 fresh coronavirus cases for 4th day in a row

Aizawl: Mizoram recorded more than 1,000 new Covid-19 cases for the fourth day in a row on Friday.
1,055 people, including 185 children, were tested positive for deadly viruses, said a health department official.
The death toll in the country rose to 231 as one more person who gave up on the virus.
The daily infection rate is 10.77 percent, because new cases are detected from 9,799 sample tests.
Two fresh patients have a travel history and 1,053 the rest found to have contracted infection locally.
The northeastern state has registered 1,061 new cases on Thursday, 1,214 on Wednesday and 1,468 on Tuesday.
Aizawl reported the highest number of cases in 570, followed by Lawngtlai in 115 and collapsed at 96, he said.
Mizoram now has 12,440 active cases, and 917 recovered from disease on Thursday, taking the total recovery to 56,355, the official said.
The recovery rate between Coronavirus patients is currently at 81.64 percent.
The country has so far done more than 9.49 lakh sample tests for Covid-19, the official said.
According to state immunization officers, Dr.
Lalzawmi, more than 6.62 lakh people have been inoculated until Thursday with 2.87 lakh of them have received a vaccine dose.
