Aizawl: The Mizoram government has reached for seven-day full lock in the Aizawl Municipal Corporation after increasing Covid-19 cases, more than two weeks after easing restrictions, officials said.
Shutdown will take effect from July 18 to midnight July 24, the official command word.
Locking or other strict restrictions can be imposed in other parts of the state by deputy commissioner depending on the situation of Coronavirus, he said.
The Mizoram government has stimulated restrictions in the AMC area from June 30.
The order said the trajectory of a positive case continued to increase with the daily average of new infections that grew steadily from 55 in April to 381 in May to 381 in May.
With the majority of new cases reported from the AMC region, the imposition of total locking is needed to reduce further surge, he said.
Only important services include water and electricity, health services distribution and LPG will function, notification words.
All stores will be closed in the AMC area except those who deal with essential commodities, he added
