Aizawl: The Ministry of Health Mizoram has decided to launch a drive vaccination where people who are reluctant to take shots based on religious beliefs will be persuaded to be investigated, Nodal Nodal officers for Covid-19 Vaccination Dr.
Eric Zomawia said on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, another drive was launched last week to vaccinate the people riding on a bed at home.
Zomawia said there were many people who had the first dose given, but had refused to take second shots.
People who have refused to be invested with religious reasons have created obstacles in achieving 100% vaccination status in the state, he said.
The Lalzawmi State Immunization Officer told TII that a drive was launched to ensure the inoculation of people who doubt the vaccine, which more than 100 “mobilisers” will be employed to convince people owned by religious cult to be affixed.
Lalzawmi said more than 50 “Mobilisers” had provided training, while 70 others would be trained on Wednesday.
Mobiliser will be given an incentive RS 50 because it carries one hesitant person to the vaccination center, he added.
The urge to vaccinate people who are included in different religious cult will be carried out soon after the completion of the training of “Mobilisers”.
Lalzawmi also said more than a thousand people in Mizoram would be vaccinated in their homes during the drive which was launched last week.
He said to achieve a 100% vaccination of people belonging to 18 years and above, the bed was due to disease and other problems were being affixed to their homes.
“We will not be able to cover all 11 districts at once, but we have started ‘home vaccination’ in five districts,” he said.
He added that 761 people who could not explore to get vaccinations were identified in five districts.
A large number of people do not want to participate in the census, do not want to register on the voter list, refuse to have a ration card and do not allow their children to attend educational institutions because of their religious beliefs.
