Aizawl: A 41-year-old woman was found hacked until she died in a vegetable park near the Nghalimlui Village in the South Mizoram district of Lawngtlai.
The police suspected he was raped with a gang before being killed.
The late police report that reached Aizawl on Wednesday said Sadin Mela, wife of Sushil Kumar, has been lost since January 6 after leaving his home to collect winter plants for his vegetable gardens near the river, about 4 km from Nghalimlui Village.
The police said he was hacked with sharp weapons on the head.
His personal part was mutilated and he was found without underwear.
