Coimbatore: South Mla Tirupur K Selvaraj brought an old woman in her car to a ration shop on Sunday and conducted an investigation with her staff in front of her after she complained to her about rice below the standard they gave her.
DMK MLA also ensures that rice below the standard is taken back and the woman is provided better quality rice.
Selvaraj left a backpack after issuing a strong warning to the staff, giving a pleasant surprise to elderly and public women who packed outlets.
When Selvaraj, who visited KVR Nagar in Karuvampalayam, was heading to a corporate school to examine the construction of a new class building, 70-year-old Kanniamum, local residents, intercepted his car.
He previously knew that MLA visited the place.
As Selvaraj who was confused about trying to know the complaints of sexagenarians, Kannnammal began to devote complaints against local public distribution system outlets (PDS).
“There are many violations in stores.
All commodities are not provided and staff abuse us.
You must come and warn them,” he told MLA.
Selvaraj asked Kanniamum to get into his car and drove directly to the backpack.
In the shop, the staff surprised tried to deny the accusation.
But Kannnammal stands on the ground and repeats its accusation once more.
He said the staff would intimidate him every time he questioned them about denying products to the card holder.
Selvaraj warned staff against not respecting the public and directed them to supply all commodities to cardholders.
“If there are more complaints, this problem will be taken with an officer and superior action will be taken,” he warned them.
Mla’s powerful party then personally oversees that staff gives Kannnammal all qualified commodities.
