BELAGUGIVA: City police have ordered BJP MLA Anil S Benake for violating Covid norms.
Benake, Beleagavi North MLA, had attended the buffalo race on Friday as part of the Sankranti Festival.
He looks not wearing a mask and doesn’t keep a social distance.
This event was held even though it did not have permission.
The market police on Sunday ordered 27 people in connection with the same program but the name MLA missed.
However, on Thursday, the police added his name to FIR.
Benake looks at least two or three occasions breaking Covid guidelines.
He also held an event at Sambhaji Maharaja Chowk to commemorate the coronation of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
Benake and his supporters were seen celebrating the event while breaking the Covid protocol.
But he was not ordered for the event.
A police officer said after checking the recording of the buffalo racing video held at Chavat Galli, MLA was ordered when his presence was confirmed.
