Mangaluru: While new Covid guidelines that allow marriages and other functions with the number of guests present, have provided assistance to many people who have events scheduled for weekends, however, the committee is not satisfied with the restrictions on the number of guests who can attend.
According to the latest state guidelines issued on Tuesday, marriage is allowed to do, but no more than 200 people must be present, and it must be held in open space.
If it is held in a closed room, no more than 100 people are allowed to attend.
This applies to weekend hours too.
“We have invited around 400 people to our wedding, and the invitation has been distributed.
Now, it will be embarrassing for us to call our guests and tell them that they cannot come because of restrictions on the number,” said the couple who will get married on Saturday .
Melisha Lobo, a health professional, who has planned her first child cradling ceremony on Sunday, said, “New guidelines will not be troublesome for me, because of the list of small guests.” A catering says they are in the dilemma on the new sidewalk.
“So far, no clients who have their marriage on weekends have told us about change.
Meanwhile, those who marriage are scheduled in two more days, have reduced the number of their guests.
We return to normal this season, and impose such restrictions again inhibiting our industry.
How can we survive? “He asked.
Other caterers say that some wedding organizers have booked and invited more than 1,000 guests.
“We are not sure about how they will manage numbers,” he said.
Videographer Punith Salian said that he received a cancellation or delay of events scheduled this week.
“On Wednesday, one of the organizers told us that they could not hold a wedding with only 200 guests, and therefore decided to delay it,” Punith said, adding that more cancellation can occur.
