Mangaluru: A woman has filed a complaint with the Cybercrime police station here that she had been cheated for the song Rs 2.94 lakh by fraudsters.
In accordance with the complaint, someone who identified himself as a safe work in the army, called the woman on his call and expressed his interest in buying ‘Maida’ from a flour mill where her husband was hired.
The man asked him to forward the QR code to send the price of flour to be purchased.
Since the company where her husband works does not have a QR code, the woman sends its own QR code to the caller.
Then, it was found that a number of Rs 2,94,830 have been withdrawn from the Bank’s account in the PU branch here in the phase, the word complaint.
