Vadodara: There is good news for women who think twice before traveling by public transportation, a student startup has produced a cellular application that aims to make their journey safer.
Startup has been incubated by the University of M.’s innovation and entrepreneurship startup with only simple scans, users can get all the details of their travel, such as driver details and vehicle owners, among others.
Users can even share details as they love through Safesavaari, the mobile application that will be launched on Tuesday.
Women who travel themselves will be able to share direct locations with pre-registered trusted contacts and even SOS Multicast pressure calls to trusted contacts.
This feature will be launched for autorickshaws in Vadodara after it will be launched throughout the state.
Before developing a cellular application, students have conducted a survey of public transportation covering 400 women in Vadodara and Bharuch.
“This study suggested that 70% of women would no prefer to travel alone in public transport.
About 50% prefer to call their family or friends to update them about their journey or they pretend to call, just to feel safe.
And 40% of women preferred.
Avoid the use of public transportation, “said Batul Millwala, a student in the last year BBA in the ITM of the Vocational University and Founder of Start-Up.
“Women still feel uncomfortable when it comes to traveling alone.
Safesavaari has been developed as a solution for this,” he said.
Apart from Millwala, this team includes priyanka UDasi, graduates of mode communication from MSU, as head of Marketing and Hujefa Vohra, graduated from BCA from Dr.
Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, as a Tech Lead.
Startup has also gathered support under the State Government Startup and Innovation Policy.
“On International Women’s Day, we had the idea to show off before the former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and now we have successfully developed applications,” said Milliwala.
Currently, the QR code has been inserted on 20 rickshaw.
“Our plan is to put a QR code on all rickshaws are available in Vadodara and then expand to other cities,” he said, adding that the rickshaw drivers certified Safesavaari will get prizes and recognition for their support.
“Although some taxi aggregator SOS facilities to users, they do not have a tie with the rickshaw drivers.
Also, use our application, users can get details with only one scan QR,” he said.
