Srinagar: Cellular telephone services and broadband provided by private companies restored at Kashmir Valley on Friday night.
Inspector General of Police Kashmir Range, Vijay Kumar Friday said that the situation remained peaceful and controlled throughout the valley.
“So far the situation is still peaceful and controlled, thanks to public cooperation in maintaining law and order.
Cellular service (voice calls) and broadband from all telecommunications service providers (TSPS) will open from today at 10pm,” he said.
Connectivity of cellphones and internet services was suspended on Thursday morning as a “precautionary measure” after the death of the separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
However, BSNL broadband facilities worked as usual.
The situation remained peaceful on Friday and people offered Nimaz as usual.
Other shops and businesses opened on Friday night.
