Pune: The Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) on Sunday expects moderate rainfall in the city and throughout the district until July 16.
The IMD also estimated very heavy rainfall in the Ghat area for the next few days.
Monsoon became active in the state on July 9.
The state weather conditions are largely regulated by the presence of the trough line from South Punjab to Bay Bay and circulation of the upper air cycle in Bengal.
“In addition, the western wind coming from the Arab Sea is strong and there is a possibility of the formation of offshore troughs from the North Maharashtra coastal area to Kerala.
Because of this weather conditions, the four meteorological subdivisions of the state are expected to get rainfall widespread until July 16,” said IMD Head of Kashyapi Anupam.
Rainfall activities in the state and Pune District remain calm for two days due to the absence of weather systems above the country, the official said.
“Of the July 12 and so on, all regions in the district are expected to get moderate rainfall.
This will activate Kharif’s sow activities in rural areas,” said an official met.
For the Ghat area, IMD officials have advised passengers to maintain the speed of the vehicle, especially at Pune-Mumbai toll roads and old highways in the district of Ghat District.
“There is a possibility that the formation of holes and accumulation of rainwater is also in low-lying areas.
Commuting needs to be extra careful during their trip,” added the official meets.
On Sunday, the Shivajinagar Observatory recorded 2 mm rainfall while Lohegaon Observatory recorded Nile’s rainfall, according to the IMD report.
