New York: Moderna has supplied its shots almost exclusively for rich countries, keeping poor countries waiting and getting billions of profits.
According to Airfinity, a data company that tracks vaccine shipments, moderna has sent a larger part of its dose to rich countries than other manufacturers.
About one million modern doses have been going to World Bank countries classifying as low income, compared to 8.4 million doses of pfizer shots set aside for these nations.
Modern executives say they do everything they can to make as many doses as possible quickly but their production capacity remains limited.
