Modi Govt’s welfare policy that protects human rights, said Amit Shah

New Delhi: The Government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stopped working for the welfare of the poor, backwards and less than the community, thus protecting their human rights, home Minister Amit Shah said on Tuesday.
Overcoming the day of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Foundation here, Shah also appreciates the work done by the right body to create awareness among people in the country about their human rights for the past 28 years.
The Minister of Home Affairs said the government with an absolute majority was formed in the center for the first time in a long period of 2014 and has since conducted welfare work for poor parts and shortcomings.
He said that after the Government Narendra Modi was in power, 10 crore families were given toilets, thus protecting women’s rights, girls and others.
The four-crore family was given an electric connection, which was beneficial for the old and children, 13 crore families provided clean cooking gas connections that have helped in saving women and other people from various diseases, he said.
Shah said the central government had built two crore houses for poor people while five more crore houses would soon be built.
Seven crore people were given financial assistance by the central government directly to their bank account, which was opened for the first time.
He said the center had launched an ambitious scheme to provide drinking water for every household in the country and two families of Crore would be given clean water through pipes immediately, thus protecting their human rights.
The Minister of Home Affairs said the NHRC, from the beginning, has thrown out of 20 lakh cases and compensated Rs 205 Crore for a number of people for violating human rights, are commendable.
NHRC is a legal entity formed on October 12, 1993 under the protection of human rights actions for promotion and protection of human rights.
NHRC recognizes human rights violations, conducts investigations and recommends compensation to victims of public authorities in addition to the steps of improvement and other laws on mistaken civil servants.
